Escape to the tranquil Penha Longa resort and Sintra Mountains. From the moment we arrived there was a feast for our eyes, and waking up to the lush green landscape of Sintra’s breathtaking rolling green hills was a truly incredible experience! Our deluxe suite was charming in every way, with a balcony overlooking inspiring views of the forest, the greens hills and swimming pool. Feather beds with duvets and Egyptian cotton sheets were a lovely touch! Penha Longa Resort oozes historic charm and elegance which blends perfectly in with the luxurious settings. The hotel is attached to a 14th century monastery and chapel once hosted by hermit monks and Lisbon royalty. It is also a golf-lovers dream with a nearby golf course.
The next morning we started our day at the hotel with breakfast, looking over the breathtaking view of the historic castle. Our highlight of the stay was to be invited to the Arola restaurant, situated inside the hotel, which is named after Spanish native, Sergi Arola with his famous Michelin star restaurants, offering traditional recipes which are perfectly blended with creative and modern Portuguese cuisines.
